What is the .IM
domain?
.IM is the National Top Level Domain
(TLD) for the Isle of Man.
The Isle of Man is in the centre of
the British Isles, but is governed independently with a tradition dating back
to the Vikings.
The .IM domain was formed in 1996 by
way of a joint project between the Isle of Man Government, and Advanced Systems
Consultants, who are the domain's designated managers.
Who can use a .IM domain?
Although formed primarily for use by
organisations, companies and individuals with a base on the Isle of Man, the
domain is open to anyone. As a company, you may wish to protect your company
name by registering it in several juristictions. As an individual, your IM
domain allows you to use a name of your choice for your E-Mail address or World
Wide Web site.
How is the domain
structured
The .IM domain is structured in a
way similar to that of many other National TLDs. It is divided into several
sub-domains.
co.im |

organisations |
net.im |
